Heidi Waters
Heidi has worked for Calderdale Council for over 25 years and leads on housing and green economy work for the Regeneration and Strategy Directorate. This includes responsibility for: homelessness (housing options, temporary accommodation & the women’s refuge etc); private sector housing (affordable warmth, empty properties & liaison with private landlords etc); housing enabling/development (liaison with registered providers, large housing projects, delivering new housing schemes & establishment of a Local Development Company called Weave Homes etc); and green economy work (climate change initiatives, sustainable travel etc).
For 10 years she was a member of Calderdale’s Pupil Referral Unit’s Governing Body and latterly it’s chair. Since stepping down a few years ago she has joined the Governing Bodies of two local schools (Moorside Community Primary School and St Augustine’s Primary School), is Vice Chair of Citizen’s Advice – Calderdale and also a Director of WomenCentre Homes (a charity developing homes for women fleeting domestic abuse)
