Vice Chair: Profile

 Roger Bateman

My background is in Primary Education. Before retirement I had taught for almost 40 years in a number of schools within Calderdale.

I have been the Headteacher of two successful schools and was a National Leader of Education for three years. I have also had the experience of inspecting Anglican schools on behalf of the National Society and the Diocese of Leeds.

 Since ‘retiring’ I have worked for Calderdale Council as a School Improvement Partner and Executive Headteacher in schools where the leadership and management needed supporting.

I am passionate about creating schools where all pupils can succeed and flourish and proud to be a member of the Moorside community.
