1W Trip to The Piece Hall12 November 2025 (by schooladmin) |
Dear Parent/Carer,
As part of our history topic, we will be visiting The Piece Hall on Tuesday 25th November. We have booked a ‘cloth hunt’ and ‘cloth making workshop’ to help us learn more about the history of Halifax.
Children need to wear school uniform. The Piece Hall is an outdoor venue. Please come to school prepared with suitable shoes, coats, hats and water as necessary. Children do not need to bring any spending money.
We will be leaving school in two groups at 9.00am prompt and 9.15am. We will be returning approximately 2.30 and 2.45pm. Normal school pick up time at 3.15pm.
In order to make our trip possible, we are asking that you pay a £8 donation which will cover the transport costs and activities cost for The Piece Hall. The Education Reform Act (1988) states that you are under no obligation to contribute towards any school visit, however if insufficient funds are received we will have no option but to cancel the trip. We must stress that being unable to make a contribution towards the visit will not affect your child’s right to attend. Anyone who is struggling to make a financial contribution is encouraged to speak with Mrs Higgs.
Please return the permissions by Wednesday 19th November.
If your child is on free school meals then a packed lunch will be provided. If you normally pay for school meals, school will provide a packed lunch for your child at the normal cost (£2.00). If you normally provide your child with a packed lunch from home, please do this as normal; however please ensure that all drinks are in plastic bottles and that lunches are in plastic bags, not lunch boxes.
Yours faithfully,
Mrs H. Higgs.
