Uniform Consultation8 June 2026 (by schooladmin) |
Dear Parent/Carer,
The consultation regarding the PE uniform has now closed. Thank you to everyone who came to a drop in or sent feedback.
The feedback that we received was very positive. We had a few queries that are listed and answered below:
Pupils:
Positives
• Pupils were positive that this may mean that they will have longer in the PE lessons.
• They will be more comfortable wearing their own uniform rather than one provided by school
• They can be more active at playtime if they are able to wear sports-wear 2 days a week.
Concerns
• Forgetting the PE day to wear kit – this will be told to the children and parents at the beginning of term. We will also ensure that there are some spares in school in case anyone forgets.
• Forgetting house teams – We will make sure house team activities continue – we will have coloured bands/bibs to de-mark the house teams.
Pupil questions
Can we wear clothes with small logos/brands on?
Small logos and brands are fine to wear.
Can we wear a t-shirt that is red with some white or black?
All T-shirts should be plain red with no colour (other than a small logo)
Parents/carers
When will the new uniform be available?
We will be sending out a form for anyone who wishes to order the school branded kit (there is no expectation that this is school branded) and this should be available to collect before we break up for the summer.
Concerns about children sweating after PE if still in Uniform
We discussed that this will mainly affect pupils in Y5 and Y5. Most classes have PE in the afternoon sessions so should not be an issue. A spare t-shirt could be sent into school if there any concerns.
Can children wear their usual school jumper?
It would be fine to wear the usual school jumper.
Can we send examples of what different shops offer?
This would not be practical as we cannot predict what is available from shops at any particular point in time. We have tried to choose colours that would be easily available from most retailers.
Could the top be the colour of the child’s house team?
This was considered, but we thought that this could lead to confusion. There was also concern that some of the house team colours may not be as easy to purchase as other colours.
The new PE uniform expectations will be in place from September.
Yours faithfully,
Mrs. H. Higgs
